Tips

Click faster without cheating

  • Use a mouse with a light, crisp click. Heavy buttons slow every tap down.

  • Keep your wrist relaxed and tap with a slight whole-hand motion instead of one stiff finger.

  • Warm up with one easy round before you go for a record.

  • Keep sessions short. Tired fingers click slower, so rest between attempts.

FAQ

Click speed questions, answered

What is a good CPS score?

Most people click between 4 and 7 times per second with a regular mouse. Scores of 8 to 12 are fast and usually come from gamers or trained clickers. Anything above 10 is very fast.

Does clicking with a trackpad count?

Yes, it counts, but trackpads usually score lower because your finger travels further for each click. A mouse gives the most consistent results, so use the same device when you compare scores.

Why is the test 5 seconds long?

Five seconds is long enough to measure sustained clicking but short enough that your finger does not tire out. Most click tests online use 5 or 10 seconds for the same reason.

How can I improve my clicks per second?

Use a mouse with a light click, keep your wrist relaxed, and tap with a slight whole-hand motion instead of pressing with one stiff finger. Short practice bursts beat long tiring sessions.
