How to use the case converter

  1. Type or paste your text into the box.
  2. Click one of the seven style buttons to convert the text in place.
  3. Watch the live word and character counts, then copy the result with the Copy button.

Tips

  • Fix pasted text first: the converter normalizes double spaces and stray line breaks automatically.
  • Use Title Case for post titles and Sentence case for everything else. Headings in all caps are harder to read.
  • For code, convert human text to snake_case or kebab-case instead of renaming by hand. It removes typos.
  • Need counts without converting? The word counter breaks the same text down further.

Frequently asked questions

When should I use each case style?

Use UPPERCASE for short headings and labels that need to shout, lowercase for casual text, Title Case for titles and headings, and Sentence case for normal prose. Programmers reach for camelCase in JavaScript variable names, snake_case in Python and database columns, and kebab-case in URLs, CSS classes, and file names.

Does my text get sent to a server?

No. The converter runs entirely in your browser with plain JavaScript, so your text never leaves your device. You can safely convert passwords drafts, code snippets, or anything else you would not want to upload.

How does Sentence case work here?

The text is lowercased first, then the first letter of the text and the first letter after every period, exclamation mark, or question mark is capitalized. It also tidies messy whitespace, so pasted text comes out clean.

What do the live word and character counts mean?

They count the words and characters in your text as you type or paste, the same way the word counter does. Handy when you are converting text for a headline or a tweet with a character limit.

Can I chain styles, like camelCase then kebab-case?

Yes. Each button rewrites the text in the box, so you can apply styles on top of each other. Converting camelCase text to kebab-case or snake_case to Title Case works well, because underscores and hyphens are treated as word separators.
